about

Following the band's 2021 debut for Umbilical, Rooftemas is the second release by Anderson Quevedo Trio.

The three-part ensemble was originally established in 2018 as a resident act in one of the many night clubs in São Paulo. In order to keep the repertoire fresh one week after the other, saxophonist and composer Anderson Quevedo wrote simple musical ideas that the trio developed live. The club happened to be on a rooftop, so these short compositions started getting the general title of "Rooftemas".

With tracks ranging from highly energetic discharges to chill grooves - but always with funk and black music in mind - the new recording rescues the tunes played on these live shows.
